It was great to attend both the Leading Edge and Australian Booksellers Conference earlier this year.
As with other years, this year’s Leading Edge Conference Trade Show was extremely busy. I seem to be the first to set up and the last to pack up with non-stop visitors in between.
I had some great feedback from some of you with special mentions being made of Simon on our support desk.
Several customers stopped by to ask about various integrations (most of which we had). But I did come home with some ideas for new ones that will be of interest to many of you (details will follow as I finish investigations).
Although the trade show has shrunk somewhat over the last few years with many suppliers conspicuous by their absence, I continue to find this a very worthwhile conference to attend.
Australian Booksellers Association (ABA)
Simon and I are back from this year’s ABA conference at the Pullman Melbourne on the Park and boy did we have a good time. We were both very busy for the duration of the trade show with a queue starting to form towards the end of the day. We had lots of visitors from existing customers looking for help, wanting to discuss improvements and additional options such as web sites.
Some of the highlights for me were catching up with some old customers we rarely get to see and spending time with some of the new blood in the industry. With some store owners retiring and new people coming in, there is a perpetual change in this industry of ours, and it’s truly wonderful to be a part of it.
